About this Site
What is this Website?
This is a social network website, created on Ning, for U of R, Elementary Education students in year 3 to communicate online.
Why was this Site Created?
This was created to have an online space to professionally collaborate, share ideas, ask questions, and seek help from each other. It will be more useful next year during internship when we’re not working face to face (It will also be helpful in the future when we have less access to other teachers teaching the same grades as us).
Benefits of Ning
There are many Education groups on Ning you can join. These sites are pretty active and are helpful when you need advice or want to see what other teachers are doing in the grade you are teaching. A few popular ones are Flat Classrooms (292 members), Classroom 2.0 (11,136 members), and Projects by Jen (633 members). The teachers on the above Nings are from around the world, so it’s a nice way to connect with other teachers who usually have great online resources.
How it Works
With one username and password, you can join a number of different Education Ning networks; you still have to sign-up for each Ning, but by using the same username and password, all of your groups will appear in your profile.
Why Join?
Teaching can be pretty isolating especially during internship year, so this site will provide helpful connections to pre-service teachers who you don’t communicate with on a regular basis. If you would like to invite people to join, just send them this link.
